Paris, Paris, We are back!!!! ….. for the week end!!

I studied in Paris and used to live there for 2 years and it has been 2.5 years since the last time I was there for a week end!! time flies!! So after my world trip I really wanted to go back and catch up with my friends etc..

I love Paris, who doesn’t, I love it for the romantic city, the parisien chic etc..all those clichés! I am from the South of France and I remember when I was living in the South and going to Paris I thought I was in a dream! I think  Paris is the city where you want to feel like a french person back in the 50′s: listening old music, smoking cigarettes, eating a croissant and have a coffee on a terrasse.

During this week end we just saw my friends, ate in our favorit restaurant: Chartier, where the waiter is still wearing the typical black and white outfit, they don’t take any note of the order just write it down on the table and for the bill: just do the arithmetic in their head .I don’t have to say that the menu is typical french food and really cheap.

For 2 days I had the sensation to be back in the past and enjoyed the beauty of this city. Also after having travelling for a year in some “new countries” I enjoyed to find back this strong culture and history. Unfortunately if I have to finish by a negative touch I still think Paris can be dirty,noisy, arrogante,and not as avant garde as London but I guess it’s part of the charm!!

Paris, Paris, nous sommes de retour!!!…. mais seulement pour le week end!

J’ai étudiées et vécue à paris pendant 2 ans, et ca faisait déjà 2 ans que je n’y avait pas mis les pieds! Le temps passe tellement vite!! Donc bien sur après mon tour du monde il fallait vraiment que j’y retourne et revoir mes amies etc…

J’adore Paris comme tout le reste du monde, je l’adore pour le côté romantique, le chic parisien, etc.. tous ses clichés tellement vrais en fin de compte. Je viens de Sud de la France et quand j’habitais encore dans le Sud et allés à Paris je me croyais dans un rêve. Je pense que Paris est la ville ou n’importe qui veux se la jouer à un français dans les années 50: écouter de la veille musique, fumer des cigarettes, manger de bon croissants et prendre un café en terrasse.

Pendant le week end nous avons vu mes amis, mangés à notre restaurant préféré: Chartier ou les serveurs portent toujours la tenue typique noir et blanche, ou ils ne prennent pas de notes des commandes mais l’écrive sur la table et pour l’addition font le calcul mental: en gros à l’ancienne!J’ai pas besoin de préciser que la nourriture est typique française et à bas prix.

Pendant 2 jours j’ai eu la sensation d’être de retour dans le passé et savourée la beauté de la capitale. Aussi je doit dire aprés avoir voyagé dans beaucoup de ” nouveau pays” ca fait du bien de retrouver cette forte culture et histoire. Malheureusement si je doit finir avec une touche négative je trouve que Paris est toujours aussi sale ,bruyant, arrogant et pas autant avant garde que Londres mais c’est ce qui fait aussi tout son charme!
